National speaker and author Katherine Ellison will talk about her latest book, Buzz: A Year of Paying Attention, which chronicles a year in which she investigated everything from meds to meditation, brain scans, neuropsychological testing, tough love, and surrendered motherhood to cope with her son after both had been diagnosed with ADHD. The book combines a raw, frank memoir with an authoritative overview of the latest science on ADHD.

Ellison will read from her book and engage parents in a discussion of cutting-edge research on what works best for children with behavioral and learning challenges related to ADHD.

Ellison, whose science writing has appeared in the New York Times and the Washington Post, is also the author of The Mommy Brain: How Motherhood Makes You Smarter, based on her rigorous analysis of the newly emerging field of the brain science of parenthood.
